Victoria to Quadra Island
We left Victoria after stopping at a grocery store called Thrifty Foods- I have to say, I found it to be overpriced for a place called Thrifty Foods, but we are stocked up for the next few days. We are leaving Wi-Fi today and won’t have it again for a few days. I attempted to download some new books from my library at home at our hotel but my card wasn’t working. PANIC!! I can’t be without books!
We drove up Vancouver Island and realizing the crisis at hand Chris stopped for a washroom break at a Chapters. Thanks to everyone who has given me a Chapters gift card in the last year or so, because I used them all up buying a bunch of new books.
We then took a detour to the Cathedral Forest, which is a part of MacMillian Provincial Park. We saw Douglas Fir tree’s, many of which are more then 800 years old. Thanks to John and Denise from Minesing United Church for the great suggestion! It was so beautiful and the tree’s were just so big.
We found our way to Campbell River and took the brief ferry ride over to Quadra Island. It was kinda fun staying on the deck with our car.
We managed to find our destination without any detours or double backs- which we thought was impressive. We are staying at my Great Aunt Joyce’s home away from home. It is fully equipped with everything we need to kick back and relax for a few days.
Chris has finally found the courage to inform me we are going fishing at 5:30 am tomorrow. WHAT!!!!!!!
Needless to say- we went to bed at 8pm, just after saying goodnight to a mother dear and her two fawns who were snacking on my Aunt’s lawn.
