Google says it is 484KM and will take 5 hours and 19 minutes.
It was such a rough sleep that we all got up at 7:00 and we were packed up and out the door at 7:08. The parking lot that was full the night before was already empty. Hmmm… perhaps the other guests were as eager to get out of there as we were. The drive was great with lots of awesome scenery. We had a picnic lunch on the Canadian Shield at the top of Lake Superior, and afterward we had a competition to see who could stay on the rocks the longest (of course Max won). We picked fresh blueberries and had a much better day. The drive was shorter and tonight’s hotel is actually good!
We saw the town Winnie the Pooh is from and the inspiring Terry Fox monument. And somewhere in between Cathy’s nap ended quickly when she fell on the floor of the backseat when the brakes were hit a bit too hard (maybe on purpose).
In Thunder Bay we got a great hotel. We went for a swim and a hot tub, then we found an escape room just around the corner and gave it a try. With 8 seconds left we solved all the clues and found the “lost will”. We found a great restaurant and had the best meal of the trip so far (Italian!) and we all got free desert! Maybe because we started the meal by splitting a salad three ways…
