Minesing to Wawa

Google says going from Minesing to Wawa is 809Km and will take 8 hours and 27 minutes to get there without stops!

It was not far off – we hit the road at 6:19 am. It was 6:45 when Max said “I think it’s going to be a long drive.” We made up some time up on the divided Hwy to Sudbury and we stopped a few time to stretch and take “bathroom” (I used quotes because they were little more than a plastic seat over a sewer grate) breaks. We planned on having a picnic lunch but it was pouring rain so we stopped for fast food in the Sault. and trucked on through. We stopped at the midway point on the trans Canada Hwy (by accident Cathy needed to stretch) and we went for a short hike and saw a beautiful waterfall. We still made it to Wawa by 4 pm. where we found our planned (and the only good place to stay) hotel was book up solid everyday for the last 14 weeks. So…. we are left with the only place in town with a vacancy. Cathy is sleeping in her jeans. And I’m writing this and thinking about sleeping in my shoes.

So a good day of driving behind us and a lousy night a “sleep” ahead of us. I keep saying this is going to be very funny some day. Cathy isn’t so sure it will ever be funny. Max doesn’t seem to care but did say “I don’t really have to shower here do I?”.
