Hello Everyone. This is Cathy back at the keyboard. Everyone else is tucked into bed watching something on an iPad, so I thought I would get this done. We started today with a pretty chill morning. We (that means I) did our laundry at the hotel and we all smell nice and fresh again. I even washed the car blankets. And then we were off to better things- we met up with Chris’s cousins for the rest of the day.

We saw something new today that we have not seen at all on vacation. Rain. πŸ™

This led to a change in plans. Instead of going to check out the Bay of Fundy and a local zoo we went to the CFB Greenwood. This is one of the bases that Chris’s Uncle Bob served on (and by extension the rest of his family). We toured their aviation museum. They have done an excellent job of telling the stories of past conflicts, the personal stories of some of our Air Force as well as educating us on the planes, drones, helicopters and their specialized equipment. My favourite exhibit was of a journal that was open to a page that summarized a few days. One day was “peaceful” and the other had three planes attack, and the author shot down two of them and took fire and needed to deploy from his plane.

They have an International Book of Remembrance which names the crew members who lost their lives as Maritime Patrol. Tyson spend several minutes reading many of these pages.

The boys got to sit in a plane, try a flight simulator and they both loved communicating with morse code.

We took this picture of Max and Ty because featured above them is a painting of a plane that Chris’s Uncle flew.

After the museum we looked at the planes outside and then saw a giant rescue helicopter come in for a landing.

We headed from the museum to play laser tag. A first for Chris and I, but not for Tara- who was the winner. She and her dad teamed up and took possession of the high ground early on. It was 20 minutes of fast paced, high adrenaline screaming, running, and shooting. There are no pictures of laser tag- who had time to take a picture?

We met with Chris’s Aunt and Uncle for dinner. We had amazing food which was all delicious and home made. We even had a most special Birthday cake. Oh – did I not mention that today is Janice’s birthday? We are so happy to have been able to spend it with her. Thanks for treating us to dinner Brad and Janice!!

Is that coleslaw with toothpicks?

Now- many of you readers might question our after dinner activity. Please remember we had a campfire from driftwood on the shores of the ocean yesterday, after eating fresh local lobster.

We cast a wide web looking for something to do, especially this Far From Home. And yes, we decided that nothing would beat the movies, so we all went a saw the new Spider-Man movie. I would joke that Iron Man didn’t have a very big role, but that might be too soon for some people.

Early day tomorrow, we have to catch a ferry because my childhood friend, Anne Shirley is waiting to see us. πŸ™‚
