Vancouver!
Max and Cathy made it to the free breakfast with 4 min’s to spare! Whew. We were still a bit delirious and now feeling rushed, which lead to Cathy dropping the creamer on the ground and banging into people and Max spilled coffee all over his hand. It was a rough start to our day. We decided to spend a bit of time recovering ourselves in our hotel so we did some resting, reading and device playing. And Max of course played with the shower cap. He is in love with shower caps. I don’t think he has ever seen one before this trip and he thinks they are terrific.
We then met up with George and Lynda for a tour of Gastown and a great lunch at an awesome Italian restaurant.
We checked out the steam clock where Lynda said “I don’t know it’s kind of boring but I guess it is interesting technology.” A clock is a clock I suppose. 😊. We subsequently found out the clock isn’t even powered with steam anymore, it is now powered electrically.
George pretty famously hates to have his picture taken but he got pretty into his first ever selfie. His real personality really shown through.
Notice how much better behaved he is when Lynda is around?
We then toured Stanley Park- we did this to settle a long-standing argument between Chris and Cathy. Chris maintaining there are not giant enormous trees at Stanley Park and Cathy insisting there are. Ohhhh- sweet victory for Cathy. Yes- it may be true that most of the really big tree’s are dead, but alive or dead wasn’t factored into the argument!
This trip was inspired by an invitation to my Great Aunt Joyce’s 90th Birthday Celebration. The official party is tomorrow night but we got together with family from all over for the pre-celebration celebration. We had a great time at my cousin Paul and Lousie’s house, we hung out in the backyard and had amazing food and even better company. Max played an epic game of chess (two hours at least) and came out the victor! He was so proud of himself. He did lose a subsequent game which helped shrink his head a little bit so he was able to fit in the car for the way home.
Off to sleep! A big day tomorrow with checking out Vancouver and Aunt Joyce’s party!
