It was our final day at Chateau Frontenac so of course we spent some time lounging around our room.

We then called our team of assistants. Our valet brought around our car while the bell hop brought down our luggage. The valet opened my car door for me and handed me my seatbelt. :D. He also offered us all cold water for the trip. It was so awesome.

We then hit the road with one more essential stop before we left Quebec City. We needed to go to the Chocolate Museum. Tyson helped research and plan our Quebec trip and he found this little chocolatier that he wanted to see. We stopped by there and it smelt delicious. We stocked up on a few more treats to take home, picked up some croissants and a near by bakery and were off to Ottawa.

We started listening to our third audio book (Artimus Fowl again). Tyson has been begging since we left home to have McDonalds, so we finally caved in and went to the Golden Arches for lunch. The server didn’t speak a lot of English and we didn’t speak a lot of French- but it was fun making it work.

We made an emergency stop at Walmart because there are only two days left and I don’t want to do laundry. With fresh clean underwear and socks in tow we were off. We finally landed at the Delta downtown Ottawa. We dumped our bags and went for a walk, heading towards Parliament Hill. We found this beautiful building on our way, the boys loved it because the carvings beside the windows are of squirrels.

We arrived on the Hill and man, our Parliament buildings really are spectacular.

We noticed they were setting up for an event so we asked what was going on. We were told it is Fortissimo, which is the Ceremonial Changing of the Guard. Ty and I found seats on the bleachers and Chris and Max headed to find a bite to eat and drink. They brought back delicious deli sandwiches and cold water, which was very welcomed.

The show started with the Sky Hawks, which are paratroopers. I have never seen anything like that before. An airplane went high over head, and then all of a sudden we saw these little Canadian Flags popping open all over the sky. Many of them joined up and formed duo’s or trios, some had smoke they released. They all landed on the grass in front of us which was amazing.

After that was a lot of different marching bands, including one from Latvia. We had a great time watching the sun set, listening to the music and the watching the marching. There was even artillery fire. It was really amazing.

We headed back to our room for some late night pizza and we watched the rest of Spiderman- Homecoming.

Off to sleep, because tomorrow we have to explore Ottawa!

Quote of the day – Cathy- “I swear, this time it was Malcolm’s fault!” Ty and Max from the back seat, in stereo “It’s always Malcolm’s fault!!!” When I got us a bit lost in Quebec City, and tried to blame Malcolm (our GPS).

Good Night!
