Oh what a beautiful morning. Waking up at the Fairmont is lovely. We were all up and dressed when a dreadful drilling sound came from outside. They are doing renovations on the outside of the building (we were able to guess this from the view of scaffolding). We went to the front desk and shared that we were concerned about the noise and they UPGRADED US! Yes that’s right. We have a new beautiful updated room with a lovely view of the city. And ROBES. Yes, robes.
They moved our luggage for us to the new room (of course) and we went out in search of breakfast. The boys both had crepes for the first time and loved them. I had a traditional breakfast (but it came with a mini red velvet cupcake!) and Chris had a smoked salmon sandwich. No cupcake. Ha ha.
After that we were off touring and shopping. Old Quebec is so beautiful, with lots of lovely little shops and amazing cobble stone walk ways. The boys are both addicted to shopping and we went into about a 100 stores! It was a long morning for Chris.
We had nacho’s for lunch, and then checked out the St. Lawrence and cooled down with some gelato and ice cream.
We found a tree that had been hit by a cannon and the cannon continues to be in the base of the tree.
We walked around the Citadel and went to the Plaines d’ Abraham. We walked to the museum but it was closed due to a labour dispute. We then travelled past the beautiful parliament building. Tyson found a garden that he thought his Great Poppa would like. Apparently they have a garden that they have planted together.
We found another amazing restaurant for supper and indulged in another 5 star meal.
We then headed back to our room, because it is such a great room!
Tomorrow we are off to a chocolate museum in Quebec and then driving to Ottawa. We all loved this stop on our vacation.
Sign of the Day-
OMG I have a pic of Cian at this same tree with the cannonball from twenty years ago. 😂
Proof it was a great destination if you and Cian went there. 🙂
Loving the blog guys!!
You have to try the gelato shop that Shelby recommends- Chocolato on Rue St-Jean
We had some amazing gelato. I think we missed that shop- but there was so many great eats and treats. 🙂
This is reminding me of my trip to Quebec City with my grade just about a month ago. Glad you all are enjoying your trip. -Abby K
Max kept talking about the grade 8’s recent trip to Quebec and all the stories he heard!
