Well- it was a long boring day but had an excellent finish. We left Charlottetown this morning and headed to Quebec City. We brought the bridge back to the mainland, 13 km is a pretty long bridge!

Bye Prince Edward Island!

It took FOREVER to get to Quebec City. We finished our second audio book (another Artemis Fowl) but of course 300 hours in a car can give you the time you need for an audio book. Chris said his heart can’t take much more of my driving. Max quickly said from the back seat “Ya dad, but your heart can’t take mom as the navigator either.” Hee Hee.

Chris has been telling us all for weeks that the only place he could find in Quebec is this small little Inn that had mustard yellow blankets and orange carpet and looked weird and creepy. And then… he pulled into the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac!!! I was all annoyed and asked why are we here- lets just go to our hotel before we tour around, and Chris said “this is our hotel!” As a very romantic surprise he booked us in here! I have always wanted to stay at Chateau Frontenac and apparently I told him that many times when we were planning this trip. I never thought that would mean he would book us here. For TWO NIGHTS. Our valet (that’s right folks- our valet!) unloaded our luggage and brought it upstairs for us. Our luggage got to our room before we did! We were all so excited, I told the boys “Try and act like we belong here.”, and Tyson said in a very straight forward way “But we don’t!”

After we settled into our room we walked around the Chateau and a few of the streets. We had a dinner on a cobble stone patio at a lovely little restaurant. Max ordered the Croques Monsieur. He had not idea what that was, but Captain Holt and Kevin love it so he had to have it. (Brooklyn 99 reference). Max was very relieved to learn that it means ham and cheese sandwich. LOL.

We returned to our hotel to just sit in luxury for a bit before we went to bed.

Thanks to Chris for the amazing treat. 🙂

Quote of the Day- “Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasss.” I was sleeping in the back of the car with Ty and he “accidentally” (ya right) poked me and apparently I made a loud, long growling sound. I briefly remember hearing the whole car burst out laughing, but I quickly went back to sleep.

Sign of the Day- My room key. 🙂

Fun Fact- Our GPS has been on most days when we are driving and we decided (about a week ago) it needed a name. We all chose to name him “Malcolm.” We all take turns yelling at and imitating Malcolm. Malcolm also happens to be Tyson’s older brothers name. :). Wild coincidence. We swear.
